1. What We Collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture provided by Google when you sign in.
  • Uploaded documents — the PDF files you upload are processed in memory to extract text. We do not store your PDF files on our servers.
  • User-uploaded photos (custom avatar) — if you choose to upload a photo of yourself as a custom avatar, that image is temporarily stored on our servers solely for the purpose of generating your video. The image is transmitted to our AI video provider (D-ID) to animate your likeness. Once video generation is complete, we do not retain the original photo for any other purpose. You may request deletion of your uploaded image at any time by contacting us.
  • Generated content — the scripts and video prompts you create are used solely to generate your videos. We do not retain them after processing.
  • Usage data — we track credit usage per month to manage your subscription allowance.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We store your subscription status but never see or store your credit card details.

1a. User-Uploaded Photos & Facial Images

When you optionally upload a photo to use as a custom AI avatar, the following applies:

  • Consent: By uploading a photo, you confirm you have the right to use that image and consent to its use for AI video generation on DocuSpeaker. Do not upload photos of other people without their explicit consent.
  • Transmission to D-ID: Your photo is transmitted to D-ID (d-id.com), our AI video provider, solely to animate the avatar for your video. D-ID's processing is governed by their Privacy Policy.
  • Temporary storage: The uploaded photo is stored temporarily in our secure cloud storage (Vercel Blob) for the duration of video generation. We do not use your photo for any other purpose, do not sell it, and do not share it with any party other than D-ID for generation purposes.
  • No biometric profiling: We do not perform facial recognition, biometric identification, or any analysis of your physical features beyond what is required to generate your requested video.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your uploaded photo at any time by emailing support@docuspeaker.com.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the DocuSpeaker service.
  • To authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
  • To generate AI video presentations from your documents.
  • To communicate with you about your account or service updates.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate DocuSpeaker:

  • Google OAuth — for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • LemonSqueezy — for payment processing. Subject to LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic Claude — for AI script generation. Your document text is sent to Anthropic solely to generate a video script and is not retained beyond the request. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • D-ID — for AI avatar video creation. Your video script and, optionally, your uploaded photo are sent to D-ID to generate the avatar video. Subject to D-ID's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — for hosting and file storage. Generated videos and temporarily uploaded images are stored in Vercel Blob. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

Your account information is retained as long as your account is active. Uploaded PDFs are processed in memory and never stored. Generated videos are hosted temporarily and may expire after a period of time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and limited data retention to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and data.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only, required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated revision date.
